About Me

Hello foodies!

My name is NaOmi and I am currently a College student living in California. I've always had a passion for food, I've been helping my mom and dad cook ever since I was little; peeling veggies,  mixing spices, managing quality control (aka sampling little bits of everything we made!) and just generally having fun in the kitchen. When I was little I was extremely adventurous with trying new things and combining random foods to try to find the ultimate combination, but even more than that I was constantly interested in what was going into what I ate and more importantly why.

When my mom began and elimination diet to discover which foods were a trigger for her intolerance I was astounded with the sheer number of trigger foods there were. It was difficult for me to believe that all of these foods which we eat everyday without really thinking about it could cause allergic reactions and discomfort. As we researched the issue more in depth we discovered that there were hundreds of "trigger" foods, and that the number of people developing intolerances were simply growing.

I decided to write this blog as a way to show people that a) food intolerances are out there, and are more common than you'd think, b) that although an adapted diet is different, and perhaps difficult to adjust to at first, it is possible, and easier than you might assume, and c) There are more alternative diets around than you may be aware of.

Are there any specific concerns that you might have about trying an alternative diet? Have you ever tried removing a specific thing from what you eat, how was it if you did? (processed sugars, saturated fats, corn, salt, etc?) If you never have, would you or have you considered it?

Welcome to Now You Taste It...Now You Don't! I hope that you enjoy this exploratory journey with me in the world of gluten free living!
